Chapter 495
The moment Luna White saw Andrew Smith's elder brother, a throbbing headache assaulted her. This man was nothing but trouble.
Since his arrival, the entire household had been walking on eggshells.
Andrew's brother wouldn't tolerate his younger sibling having a shabby wedding. Though their father constantly preached frugality, such notions held no weight with him.
He snatched the wedding checklist from the table.
Luna forced a strained smile at Andrew and his mother. What could she possibly say?
"The community canteen?!" His outburst made Luna tug at Andrew's sleeve. After a full day of shopping, she had no energy left for this argument.
Andrew glanced at his wife, noticing the dark circles under her eyes. "Brother," he said, turning to his sibling, "we're going upstairs to change. You and Mother can decide—we have no objections."
Without waiting for a reply, he led Luna upstairs.
The moment they entered their room, Luna collapsed onto the bed.
She'd walked more today than in an entire month. Her feet burned, and her stomach growled angrily. Having forgotten her food stamps, she'd passed countless eateries with nothing but longing glances.
Andrew set down their shopping bags and fetched her slippers. "Take a shower first. I'll get you something to eat."
Guilt pricked at Luna. She needed to step up as a wife instead of always relying on Andrew's care.
Under the hot shower, fatigue melted away. Rubbing her sore ankles, she resolved to break this bad habit.
"Noodles are ready," Andrew called through the door.
Luna emerged, drying her hair, to find a steaming bowl on the table. Clear broth with spring onions and two golden fried eggs looked irresistibly inviting.
"Aren't you eating?" she asked.
Andrew took the towel to dry her hair. "I ate downstairs. Dig in, little glutton."
Luna eagerly grabbed her chopsticks. The first bite made her close her eyes in bliss.
Watching her devour the food, Andrew couldn't help but chuckle.
