Chapter 432

Luna White slept like the dead, not stirring for a full day and night. Though gifted with supernatural abilities, even she couldn't withstand the exhaustion that had accumulated. Her healing powers were formidable, but they couldn't mend sheer physical depletion. Using her abilities to cure insomnia? That would be a criminal waste.

She wasn't one for such extravagance.

When she finally opened her eyes, morning light streamed through the windows. Andrew Smith sat by her bedside, his gaze burning with worry and anxiety.

"You're awake?" He pulled her into a crushing embrace, his strong arms radiating unspoken concern.

Luna stiffened. This was a shared barracks—with three other soldiers! If anyone saw them like this, the teasing would never end. While she didn't mind Andrew's closeness, gossip was dangerous, especially in a disciplined military environment.

She pushed him away hastily, scanning the room. Oddly, it was empty. Had everyone deliberately made themselves scarce? The thought made her face flush.

"Where—where is everyone?" The words slipped out before she could stop them.

Andrew chuckled at her flustered expression.

"Don't ask," he said, pinching her nose lightly. "You slept for an entire day and night. Scared everyone half to death. Lily Collins was convinced you'd exhausted your vital energy during that last healing and nearly died. The poor girl cried her eyes out, insisting on finding a qigong master to transfer energy to you."

His tone was equal parts exasperated and amused, though he'd been terrified himself. He knew Luna had supernatural abilities, but the limits of her powers were a mystery. He only remembered the warmth in his chest when she'd healed him—how instinctively her energy had responded to his. Maybe he could help her, but to what extent? He had no idea.

"She actually went looking for one?" Luna couldn't help but laugh. "Where on earth would she find a qigong master?"

"Exactly. If I hadn't stopped her, the whole camp would be in chaos." His expression turned serious. "How do you feel now? If anything's wrong, you have to tell me. Even if no one can help with your energy, we have plenty of doctors for physical issues."

He didn't expect her to explain her abilities. But these sudden, prolonged comas were terrifying. Every time she lay unconscious, his heart twisted with fear.

If anything ever happened to Luna... A dark glint flashed in Andrew's eyes. He would make Wei Shufen pay—court-martial be damned.
