Chapter 366
"Miracle doctors! Please save us!" The elderly villagers knelt at the front, their wrinkled faces etched with desperation. Behind them, dozens of ragged villagers crouched, many bearing festering wounds on their limbs.
Dr. Victor Green furrowed his brow, whispering to his team, "What should we do?"
Luna White's heart softened at the sight of their hopeful gazes. "Sir, we must help them. Look at that child—his leg is already infected."
The four medical staff exchanged glances. In these remote mountains, the villagers had no proper clinic, forced to endure illnesses untreated.
"Please rise!" Victor helped the eldest villager to his feet. "We'll request permission immediately to treat everyone."
The crowd dispersed slowly but remained nearby, watching with bated breath.
An hour later, their military liaison returned with approval and two crates of medical supplies.
"Let's begin!" Luna rolled up her sleeves, swiftly arranging her instruments.
For five grueling hours, they worked without rest. Luna's silver needles moved deftly over an elder's swollen joints, her forehead glistening with sweat.
"Try moving now," she said, supporting the man as he stood.
As dusk fell, Victor checked his watch. "Pack up—we must return to camp."
But stepping outside, they froze—
The mountainside blazed with torchlight like a river of stars illuminating the village. The trembling village mayor offered a basket of eggs. "Our humble thanks, saviors..."
Before they could protest, villagers stuffed cured meats and wild berries into their packs. Luna waved frantically. "We can't accept this—it's against regulations!"
The six retreated hastily, pursued by pleading cries: "At least take some eggs, healers!"
Under the moonlight, Luna rubbed her aching arm but smiled. Those genuine smiles outshone any gift.
