Chapter 231

"Please wait, doctors! My grandfather's condition still requires your attention. We can't let him remain like this..." Nathaniel Smith's words were abruptly cut off by a sudden exclamation.

"Oh my God! What are you doing?"

"Stop that immediately!"

"This is absolute madness!"

The specialists' faces turned pale as they pointed behind Nathaniel.

He whirled around, his pupils contracting sharply.

Luna White had somehow appeared beside the hospital bed, two gleaming silver needles already embedded in the old man's head. The trembling needle tips made Nathaniel's eyes sting.

"Luna!" he roared. "If anything happens to my grandfather, I'll make you pay with your life! Someone call the police!"

His gaze locked onto Luna's fingers gripping the needles, not daring to move recklessly. Though he knew nothing about medicine, he understood that even the slightest mistake in acupuncture could be fatal.

A young assistant named Jack swiftly stepped between Nathaniel and Luna. "Don't interfere with Dr. White! Quickly, prepare blankets and hot water!"

"Get out of my way!" Nathaniel's temples bulged with fury. "You're all in this together!"

Nathaniel Smith grabbed his arm urgently. "Fourth Brother, Luna is Andrew's fiancée—she saved my life!"

"Even you..." Nathaniel shook off his grip, his eyes filled with disappointment.

The room descended into chaos. The specialists exchanged uneasy glances, too afraid to intervene yet unwilling to leave. The hospital director, his face ashen, discreetly signaled his secretary to summon security.

Seeing no one willing to help, Jack turned to Nathaniel. "Dr. White needs hot water and thick blankets!"

Nathaniel clenched his jaw and dashed out of the room.

Moments later, he returned with blankets and a thermos. Jack swiftly prepared a cup of hot cocoa, its rich aroma filling the ward.

"Preposterous!" one specialist couldn't hold back. "How can a patient drink this?"

"This is sheer recklessness!"

"This isn't treatment—it's outright harm!"

The hospital director regretted his decision deeply. He made a subtle gesture, and several security guards took positions by the door.

Luna's face grew increasingly pale. With practiced movements, she withdrew the needles, her voice weak. "Electric vest... chocolate..."

Jack acted swiftly, draping the heated vest over her and plugging it in before bundling her tightly in blankets. He pressed the hot cocoa and chocolate into her hands—every motion seamless.

The room fell deathly silent.

Everyone stared in stunned disbelief.

This wasn't medicine—it was...

"A cheap trick!" Nathaniel sneered. "Did you really think this would fool anyone?"

The specialists shook their heads in dismay. The hospital director's expression darkened like storm clouds.

Then—a soft cough came from the bed.

"Water..."

Though barely audible, the sound struck the room like thunder.

All heads turned in unison.

Old Mr. Smith's eyes fluttered open, his lips moving weakly.

"Nathaniel..."

Nathaniel froze as if struck by lightning, his legs giving way as he collapsed to his knees beside the bed.

"Grandfather!"
