Chapter 332

Luna White pushed Lily Clark away in disgust, vigorously wiping her face.

"Ugh, that's disgusting! If you keep this up, I'm staying far away from you. I'm not into women," she scowled.

Lily smirked and leaned in, playfully tilting Luna's chin with her finger. "Too bad, I've got my eyes on you. Whatcha gonna do about it?"

The two locked eyes before bursting into laughter.

Outside the kitchen, William Cooper pricked up his ears, startled by their boisterous laughter.

Lily suddenly sighed. "Opening a clothing store isn't that easy. You've already lent your money to William, and I can't bring myself to ask my family." She bit her lip. "Maybe I should work at the factory first to save up?"

She clenched her fists. Now that she'd left home, she was determined to make something of herself—to prove everyone back in her hometown wrong.

Luna rolled her eyes. "Don't be ridiculous. If I suggested it, did you really think I'd let you worry about money?"

Lily's eyes lit up, and she immediately scooped Luna into a spinning hug.

"Ah! Put me down! Your hands are wet!" Luna shrieked.

Lily laughed as she set her down. "I knew you'd take care of me!"

"Who was it that just accused me of not caring?" Luna huffed.

Lily nudged her playfully. "I was wrong, okay?" She lowered her voice. "Luna, you're my lucky charm. My parents were right—ever since I met you, my luck's turned around."

Luna kicked at her. "Get lost! Meeting you was the worst luck for me! First, I had to save your life, and now you're mooching off me for work too!"

"Ow!" Lily yelped dramatically. "Then I'm sticking with you for life!"

"Pfft—"

A stifled laugh came from the kitchen doorway.

Lily's face flushed red as she stormed over and yanked William's ear. "Eavesdropping on girls' talk? Have you no shame?"

William covered his mouth and fled in a panic.
