Chapter 343

Luna White had just stepped into the department when Dean Sandra Miller's call came through.

"Dr. White, your transfer order has been approved. You have ten days to hand over your duties," Dean Miller's voice crackled through the receiver.

Hanging up, Luna tightened her grip on the transfer notice. Ten days. Only ten days left.

Back in her dorm, she glanced around. This tiny room, barely twenty square meters, held so many memories. Medical journals lay open on the desk in the corner, and a framed photo of her and her sister sat on the nightstand.

Lily Clark and William Cooper had long since moved out.

Lily rented a storefront with a courtyard in the southern district—a tailor shop in front, two small rooms in the back. William took one of them, and the two helped each other out.

Lily's business was surprisingly successful.

She took orders by day and attended cutting classes at night. A few small suggestions from Luna—like adding waist darts to ordinary blouses—made her designs stand out. Within three months, Lily had added two sewing machines and hired two assistants. Now she only handled design and quality control, making her workload much lighter.

William's clothing store was on the same street as Luna's sister's shop.

His first batch of bell-bottoms sold out instantly. These days, he made frequent trips south for inventory, coming back noticeably thinner.

The best part? They had teamed up.

William handled sourcing, while Lily handled pattern-making and production. With her skilled hands, she could replicate sample garments flawlessly after just one glance—near-zero margin of error.

Their business kept growing.

Lily added five more sewing machines, expanding her team to eight workers. Now, eighty percent of William's stock came from her workshop. Lower costs, higher profits.

"Dr. White, we're opening a second store," William had excitedly told her yesterday.

They were even planning to become provincial distributors, so other retailers wouldn’t have to travel south—they could just source from them.

Luna stood by the window, watching the sunset paint her dorm in gold.

These two young people, who had once had nothing, now had thriving careers of their own.

And she—she was about to embark on a new journey.
