Chapter 170
"Let's begin now." Luna White rubbed her icy fingers together. "I doubt I'll be able to see patients after registration today. I’ve already requested that the clinic be properly heated with warming equipment available at all times." She pulled her coat tighter, teeth chattering uncontrollably. "In this state, I can only handle two or three patients a day."
Without Andrew Smith by her side, her recovery had noticeably slowed. The cold seeped into her bones, making her heart feel frozen.
Robert Thompson had no choice but to lie down on the treatment table.
Silver needles descended, and her supernatural ability flowed. Fortunately, Robert’s leg injury wasn’t severe—a recent wound that required minimal energy.
"Done."
The hospital director brought his own quilt and wrapped Luna up like a dumpling. Seeing her shivering under thick blankets in the middle of summer was pitiful.
"Mastering this energy technique must be incredibly difficult," the director mused to himself. He’d heard it took over a decade to achieve even minor proficiency—no wonder this healing method couldn’t be taught.
After a cup of hot water and a lollipop, Luna finally regained her strength. Compared to treating Nathaniel Smith, this session had been much lighter.
"I’ll arrange for someone to take you to the Traditional Medicine Department right away," the director said, his tone noticeably warmer. "The heating equipment will be installed within two days. You’ll be staying in the expert housing block, and HR will handle the rest of the formalities."
Now he understood why the senior official had sent her—she was a treasure.
Luna neatly folded the quilt and returned it to the director, then handed her coat back to her brother, Ethan White.
The HR director, Li Ran, hurried over, eyeing Luna with curiosity. Someone so young assigned to the expert housing? Her background must be impressive.
"Comrade Luna, please follow me."
Before she left, the director added warmly, "If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask."
Once Luna was gone, the director stretched his legs, amazed. "Incredible! The pain is completely gone!"
Robert jumped up and ran a lap around the office. "My leg is fully healed!" The injury that had plagued him for over a year was gone just like that.
As they marveled, a nurse rushed in—General Li had arrived.
In the intensive care unit, Li Dongliang lay with an IV drip. The moment he saw his old comrade, his first words were, "Is the girl settled? I went through hell to recruit her!"
"Don’t worry, she’s getting expert treatment," the director said, sitting down. "But won’t excessive privileges backfire?"
"Let’s observe first," Li Dongliang replied, though bedridden, his spirits were high. "Once she adjusts, we can consider sending her to medical school for further training."
"That girl gave me a show of power the moment she arrived," the director chuckled. "Two needles, and my chronic leg pain vanished."
"Cut the nonsense!" Li Dongliang glared. "She healed you, and you call it a show of power? I’ve seen her skills firsthand—"
Before he could finish, a violent coughing fit seized him, and the heart monitor screeched an alarm.
"General!" The director shot to his feet.
The door burst open—Luna stood at the threshold, silver needles glinting in her hand.
"Move!"
