Chapter 167

"Your hand...?" Ethan White suddenly grabbed Luna White's wrist, the icy coldness sending a jolt through him.

The delicate veins stood out against her nearly translucent skin, cold as ice.

"Each acupuncture session drains my vital energy," Luna withdrew her hand, adjusting her collar. "This innate energy I've cultivated since childhood—it's essentially trading my life to save others."

She paused, meeting Ethan's gaze directly. "So either provide me with a climate-controlled room, or limit me to one patient per day. Otherwise..." She gave a faint smile. "After treating eight or ten patients, I might not live to see tomorrow's sunrise."

Ethan's expression hardened. Having served in special forces in his youth, he'd witnessed elite soldiers who practiced hard qigong. Once their energy was depleted, even a rookie could overpower them.

This girl before him was clearly a master of such arts.

"Deal!" Ethan slapped his thigh. "The climate-controlled room will be ready tomorrow!"

Luna swiftly tucked her needles away. "Then I can start today."

"Good!" Ethan exhaled in relief, turning to his assistant. "Jack, take Dr. White to complete the paperwork."

As soon as the car stopped, Ethan was rushed into the emergency room. Jack Peterson jogged over, eyeing Luna skeptically. "You're Dr. White?"

This stick-thin girl didn't look like a miracle worker capable of saving their boss.

Before Luna could respond, Ethan interjected, "Our luggage is still at the accident site!"

Jack finally noticed the man in military uniform beside her. "And you are...?"

"My brother. Special forces," Luna said casually.

Jack's eyes lit up. "One of ours! Let's go get your things!"

As the three returned to the scene, a woman in a white coat rushed toward them. "I finally found you!"

Yan Chunli's cheeks were flushed with excitement. "I'm the head nurse at Ninth Hospital—I've been waiting here for you!"

Jack grinned. "Perfect timing. Let's go together!"

In the car, Yan leaned closer to Luna. "What brings you to the hospital?"

"My sister's joining your staff," Ethan answered proudly.

"Really? Which department?" Yan's eyes widened.

"Traditional Chinese Medicine," Luna replied with a faint smile.

Yan suddenly seized her hand. "With those acupuncture skills you showed earlier? Amazing! We'll be colleagues!"

Gazing at the passing scenery, Luna's lips curved slightly. Fate worked in strange ways. Yesterday, she was just a college-bound student. Today, she was a doctor.

As the car entered the hospital gates, Luna clenched her fist. This time, she'd make sure everyone remembered the name "Luna White."
