Chapter 411

After Jonathan Ferguson drove his parents back to town, the Ferguson household collapsed into chaos.

Sean Ferguson lay paralyzed in bed, his limbs twisted like a broken ragdoll. The loan sharks had been merciless, shattering his bones beyond repair. Now he could never gamble or cause trouble again.

The police arrested the entire loan shark operation, sentencing them to lengthy prison terms. The Ferguson family drama had finally reached its bitter end.

Darren Ferguson and his wife now lived in misery. With their son bedridden and needing constant care, they had to handle all the farm work themselves. Ironically, their chickens and pigs thrived so well that they saved hundreds by year's end—a cruel twist of fate.

Luna White never knew that by changing Jonathan's destiny, she'd indirectly destroyed Sean. Had she known, she would've cheered. Making Sean suffer a living hell was far more satisfying than killing him outright.

Meanwhile, the Wallace household was in uproar.

Ryan Wallace had secretly left with Luna Whitaker and her three children on the fifth day of the new year, sending old Walter Wallace into a rage. He threatened to disown his son, secretly hoping Ryan would come crawling back after failing in the city.

"With no education or skills, he'll end up begging on the streets!" Walter ranted daily.

The new tiled house he'd built stood empty, waiting for his eldest son's return. Instead, news came that Ryan had opened a restaurant in the city.

The mayor claimed Luna helped them establish the business, and it was thriving. Walter refused to believe it. "Money doesn't grow on trees in the city! Just wait and see!"

He expected the urban migrants to return weeping about unpaid wages. But a year passed without a single complaint. Today, after Clara Clark's visit, his wife Eleanor suddenly demanded to visit their son in the city.

"Have you lost your mind? That ungrateful wretch isn't worth seeing!" Walter slammed the table.

Eleanor wiped her tears. "The mayor says Ryan's a successful businessman now, earning over ten thousand monthly. I miss my grandchildren..."

"Bullshit! They're lying!" Walter's beard quivered with fury. "Go if you want! I'll die before setting foot there!"

To his shock, Eleanor grabbed a bundle and stormed out. "Then I'll go alone! I'm done with this life!"

Walter stood dumbfounded. His meek wife had never defied him like this. Staring at the empty courtyard, panic gripped him.

Could it be true? Had his son actually succeeded?
