Chapter 306

Luna White slammed the office door shut, her chest heaving violently. Sean Shaw's probing words echoed in her mind—what nonsense about old acquaintances? That piercing gaze had felt like it could see right through her.

"Like I'd fall for that," she muttered through clenched teeth.

Her fists tightened until her nails dug into her palms. She never imagined Sean would be that deadbeat father who abandoned his wife and child. Even more shocking—Kelsey and Kevin Shaw were her half-siblings.

"Family turning on each other?" Luna let out a bitter laugh. "They don't deserve that title."

Now everything made sense—Kelsey's schemes and Kevin's humiliations in her past life. They'd known the truth all along yet treated her like a thorn in their side.

"Blood for blood," Luna's eyes flashed with cold determination. "This time, you'll taste your own medicine."

Outside the hospital, the snow had been cleared away. Beads of sweat formed on Luna's forehead despite the cold. She unzipped her coat, letting the winter wind rush in, but it did nothing to extinguish the fire burning in her chest.

"Luna!" Maya's voice carried from the hotpot restaurant. "Get in here and warm up!"

The place buzzed with activity, every seat occupied by waiting customers. Though swamped with work, Maya still found time to pour her sister a steaming cup of tea.

"Let me help." Luna tied on an apron and disappeared into the kitchen.

Inside, Ethan Jackson struggled to keep up with the mountain of vegetables needing chopping. Without a word, Luna grabbed a knife. The blade flashed, sending perfectly sliced potatoes into neat piles.

"Aunt Luna, we're working ourselves to death here," Ethan groaned.

Her hands never stopped moving. "Starting tomorrow, we're changing things. Pre-slice and freeze the meat, prep all vegetables before opening, switch to self-service seasoning..."

"Won't that cause waste?"

"Relax." A faint smile touched her lips. "No one would dare embarrass themselves like that in public."

When the last customer left, everyone slumped in exhaustion. Luna stared into the night through the window, her gaze turning icy.

"Shaw family," she whispered. "We'll settle our accounts slowly."
