Chapter 159
Iris was dragged back home by Ethan and the others. As soon as she sat down, Luna quickly boiled a few eggs, peeled them, and handed them to Henry. "Brother-in-law, use these to soothe your eyes."
Henry took the eggs and rolled them gently over his bruised eye sockets. Luna frowned at the injury—if they applied red medicine, how would he face people tomorrow? But using her supernatural ability for such a minor injury seemed excessive.
It wasn’t until everyone started talking over each other that Iris finally learned about everything that had happened at home. Her eyes widened in shock. "Big Sister got divorced? And she came back with three kids?" She smacked her thigh in frustration. "I should’ve come home sooner!"
"Don’t worry, things are much better now," Luna said with a smile, patting her sister’s hand. "Getting rid of that beast Paul was a relief."
Iris gritted her teeth. In all her years of marriage to Henry, he had never once raised a hand at her, no matter how angry he got. The thought of what her sister had endured made her wish she could tear Paul to pieces.
"Sis, if you ever need anything, just say the word," Iris declared, straightening her back. "I’m the workshop supervisor now—my salary’s doubled!" She shot a proud glance at Henry. "And he’ll officially start driving in two months."
Ethan looked confused. "What does this have to do with Luna?"
Only then did Iris explain how Luna had saved the factory manager’s brother-in-law. Henry nodded emphatically. "Big Sister, we’re family. We’ll get through anything together."
Meanwhile, Ethan pulled Luna into the inner room and shut the door, his expression darkening. "Luna, tell me the truth. All that talk about the King of Hell and our parents sending you dreams—you might fool your sisters, but I’m not buying it."
Luna blinked, tugging Ethan down to sit beside her. "Brother, I’m telling the truth." Her gaze was clear, unwavering. "I can’t explain it, but this ability is real."
Ethan studied her for a long moment before finally sighing. "Fine. But from now on, tell people it’s medical knowledge Dad taught you." He lowered his voice. "There’s an old Chinese medicine expert in the army who’s incredible with acupuncture. Say you learned from him. Don’t slip up."
"Got it, you worrywart!" Luna giggled, hugging his arm.
Ethan flicked her forehead. "Be serious! You’re getting bolder by the day." His expression turned grave. "Remember what I said—always be careful."
Rubbing her forehead, Luna felt warmth spread through her chest. In this life, having her family’s protection was a blessing. She’d never let herself be used and discarded like she had in her past life.
