Chapter 465

Andrew Smith stood up abruptly, his military posture impeccable as he saluted crisply.

"Thank you for your guidance, General!"

His voice was steady and firm, as though this honor were nothing out of the ordinary.

Luna White blinked and discreetly tugged at Andrew's sleeve. She still hadn't grasped what this "two-rank promotion" actually meant.

"Dr. White," the General said warmly, turning to her. "Given your outstanding performance at the field hospital—particularly your breakthrough in acupuncture anesthesia—the board has decided to appoint you as the chief acupuncturist at Yunnan Provincial Hospital."

Luna's eyes widened in surprise.

"With one condition," the General added, raising a finger. "You must complete your medical degree within five years. The exact timeline and institution can be discussed with the hospital director. But this is non-negotiable."

"Understood, General!" Luna immediately straightened and saluted, her heart soaring.

Most doctors had to grind for at least five to seven years before earning such a promotion.

"As your former commanding officer, I have a personal request," the General said with a chuckle. "Your wedding was rushed last time. When you return to the capital, you must hold a proper ceremony."

Luna's face flushed instantly.

"Yes, General! Consider it done!" Andrew replied with exaggerated seriousness, earning a subtle pinch from Luna.

"Send me an invitation," the General laughed. "I watched Andrew grow up—I won't miss this toast!"

"Of course," Andrew nodded. "We're planning a family banquet to formally introduce Luna to everyone."

By the time they left the General's office, night had fallen.

"Andrew, what exactly does 'two-rank promotion' mean?" Luna asked the moment they got into the car.

Andrew shook his head in amusement. "You're a military doctor—how do you not know this?"

"I came into this halfway!" she retorted. "Just tell me!"

"Simply put, it means I'm now equivalent to..." Andrew murmured the rank.

"Wow!" Luna clapped a hand over her mouth, eyes sparkling. "Does that mean I'm now... Mrs. Smith?"

Andrew laughed and ruffled her hair. "Yes, my Mrs. Smith."

Luna lifted her chin triumphantly, her heart sweeter than honey. Her man was simply extraordinary.
