Chapter 251
Luna White was about to step forward and lay everything bare, if only to spare her sister the constant anxiety.
But she was a second too late.
"Ryan!"
"Son!"
Two furious voices exploded simultaneously. Luna looked up to see two figures charging out from the woods near the dam.
She rubbed her temples and covered her face in resignation.
Well, this was just perfect. Caught red-handed.
"Mom? Dad? What are you doing here?" Ryan Wallace instinctively shielded Luna Whitaker behind him.
"Ryan, get your ass home right now!" Old Man Walter Wallace bellowed.
"Dad—"
"If you don't leave this instant, I'll break your legs!" Walter trembled with rage. "I'll disown you!"
Luna, still hidden, clicked her tongue.
This was about to get messy.
"Dad, since you've seen it all, I won't lie." Ryan straightened his back. "I love Luna. I want to marry her."
Slap!
A sharp crack echoed as Walter's palm struck Ryan's face.
Luna winced. That slap held nothing back—Walter was truly unhinged.
"Ryan, don't provoke your father! Come home with me!" Mrs. Eleanor Wallace hurried forward to pull her son away.
Ryan yanked his arm free. "Dad, you can beat me to death today, but I'm still marrying Luna!" His jaw set, unmovable.
Father and son stood locked in a standoff.
Luna Whitaker gently tugged Ryan's sleeve. "You should go back with your parents first..."
"Shut your mouth!" Walter suddenly roared. "You divorced woman, luring my son out in the dead of night! No wonder the Jacksons threw you out—you're nothing but a siren!"
Luna Whitaker's tears fell instantly.
"Dad!" Ryan pulled her into his arms. "I pursued her! If you want to curse someone, curse me!"
Walter heaved ragged breaths, his eyes bloodshot.
"Mark my words—as long as I live, this siren will never set foot in the Wallace household!"
"Walter!" Eleanor intervened. "Let's discuss this at home!"
She turned to Luna Whitaker. "You should go. We... need to think things through."
Luna Whitaker gently pushed Ryan away. "Go home." Her voice was barely audible.
The moment she turned, her tears finally broke free.
She ran as if fleeing a monster, her steps unsteady.
Luna followed silently, her heart wrenching at the sight of her sister's stumbling figure.
Her sister—always so kind, always so heartbreaking.
This storm was only just beginning.
